Reap what you sow

In life, we cannot expect to receive something we do not give to others, especially family. Walter Morel was a great example of a self-seeking person. He wanted to have their family’s attention and love, but he did not provide that to them. He created an uncomfortable environment that nobody wanted to stay close to him. Moreover, even their own sons did not like to tell him anything that happened to them. For instance, when William was accused of ripping Alfred’s collar, Walter got aggressively angry at him showing not a shred of mercy to him like Gertrude did. He sowed that hatred and disgust from his children towards him. Nobody stood being with him as he made them feel uncomfortable. Mrs. Morel level of happiness steadily declined over their years of marriage, and the same was for the children as all of them were in the same boat. Thus, although he wanted to be different with his family, it was too late to change what he sowed on them and to change what they felt for him.

Walter's sons hated him

Gertrude loved his sons, especially William and Paul
